If your Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server is tight on available disk space and you discovered it’s the MDBDATA directory that is filled with Exxxxxxx.LOG files (each 5MB big) and there’s many of them, the following article may be for you.

Remember: A good backup of your Microsoft Exchange database should automatically flush the log files (if everything is normal, the log files that are no longer needed are deleted by your backup software), so if this normal behaviour fails, checking the need for those log files to remain present is step one, step two is to delete the unneeded log files and step three is to check your backup solution. Updates may be available and be sure to watch your backup status (and your MDBDATA directory) closely. Happy hunting!
